제목: With his wife dying, trapped by deep snow 

 

오늘의 10문장 또 공부해보도록 하겠습니다!

 

 

1.  그의 아내는 숨 쉬는데 어려움을 겪고 있었다. 

     His wife was struggling to breathe. 

 

2. 그는 3년 동안 산소호흡기를 써왔지만, 무언가가 변했다. 

  She had been on a ventilator for three years, but something had changed. 

 

3.  81세 Rice는 오랫동안  만성 폐쇄성 폐 질환을 앓았고 심부전 또한 발병했다. 

 Ms. Rice, 81, had long suffered from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and had also developed congestive heart failure. 

 

4.  12월 유방암이 몸을 침해했을 때  방사선이나 화학치료를 받을 상태가 아니였다. 

    암이 뼈로 전이되었다. 

 

In December, when breast cancer invaded her body, she was in no shape for radiation or chemotherpay. 

The cancer spread to her bones.

 

5. 산소탱크를 쓰고 돌아다닐 수 있게 되었을 때  기관절개용튜브를 사용해야 했다. 

 Once able to  get around with an oxygen tank,  she had a tracheal tube. 

 

6. 약 6개월 전에 Rice 씨는 주변에 대한 인지능력이 떨어지는 것 처럼 보였다. 

But about six months ago, Ms. Rice appeared to lose awareness of her surroundings.

 

7. 가족은 최근에 연명치료거부에 서명을 했다. 

The family had recently agreed to a do-not-resuscitate order. 

 

8. 그는  간호사실에 매일 연락해서 Rice씨의 상태를 확인했고 계속해서 딸에게 상황을 전달했다. 

He called the nursing facility every day to check on Ms. Rice's conditions and constantly messaged his daughter for updates.

 

9. 삼일 뒤에 Rice씨는 아내분의 헤모글로빈 수치가 내부 출혈로 떨어지고 있다는 소식을 들었다. 그녀는 이미 

하루 걸러 수혈을 받고 있는 상태였다. 

Then three days later, Mr. Rice received word that his wife's hemoglobin levels were dropping because of internal bleeding. She was already undergoing blood transfusions every other day. 

 

 

10.의사는 치료 중단을 권고했다. Rice 부인은 6개월 남았다. 길어봤자 몇 주 더 살 수 있었다.

The doctors recommended stopping the intervention. Ms. Rice could have six months left, they said. A handful of weeks was more likely.
