수단에서 발생한 내전으로 인해서 많은 시민이 어려움을 겪고있다고 합니다. 

그중 출산이 임박한 산모가 어려움을 겪고 있다고 합니다.

이에 대한 기사에서 중요 문장을 공부해 보도록 하겠습니다.

[문화뉴스 유지연 기자] 수단 내전이 시작된 지 6주째에 접어들면서 정부군과 신속지원군(RSF) 사이의 임시 휴전이 합의되었지만 수단 내에서 공습과 군사적 충돌이 끊이지 않고 있다.

지난 20일 미국과 사우디가 중재한 협정을 통해 수단의 정부군과 RSF는 7일간의 휴전에 합의하여 인도적 지원의 물품과 식량의 제공과 분배를 허용하고 필수적인 서비스를 다시 복원하며 병원에서도 군대를 철수할 것을 약속했다.

미국과 사우디는 협정 성명서를 통해 "이전 휴전과 달리 미국과 사우디 및 국제 지원 휴전 모니터링 메커니즘의 지원을 받을 것"이라고 밝혀 새롭게 합의된 휴전에 대한 긍정적인 기대가 컸다.

하지만 수단 내부에서 휴전 기간 동안 많은 공습과 군사적 충돌이 보고되며 휴전에 대한 희망이 부정적으로 바뀌고 있다.

3. Tens of thousands more have been displaced or are trapped at home, their babies delivered by midwives or family members or no one at all.

6. Cars pull up to our hospital covered in bullet holes. These woman are anxious, stressed and many are in advanced labor. 

 

차들이 총알 구멍으로 뒤덮여 있는  우리 병원에 도착하셨습니다. 이 여성들은 불안하고 스트레스를 받으며 많은 사람들이 진통이 시작된 상태입니다.

 

7. He said he had just discharged a woman who had arrived with a breech birth after spending hours at a checkpoint controlled by the paramilitary forces, who were interrogating her husband. 

 

 준군사 부대가 통제하는 체크포인트에서 몇 시간 동안 남편이 심문을 받고나서 골반위 분만으로 그녀는 병원에 도착했었고, 그는 여성을 방금 퇴원시켰다고 말했습니다.  

 

8. Unfortunately she did not reach us in time and the baby did not survive.

9. The number of babibes born prematurely in his hospital had increased by almost a third since the fighting began on April 15.

11.The dire maternal health situation also had consequences for babies born prematurely. Preterm babies are at high risk of developing lifelong defects including intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, and hearing and visual impairments.

12. Even before the current conflict, Sudan had a fragile health system with inadequate infrastructure and equipment, a shortage of skilled health professionalsand a limited supply chain. 

 

현재의 분쟁 이전에도 수단은 부족한 인프라와 장비, 숙련된 건강 전문가의 부족, 그리고 제한된 공급망을 가진 민감한 건강 시스템을 가지고 있었습니다.

 

13. Sudan's maternal mortality rate was about 270 deaths per 100,000 live births, compared to 21 per 100,000 in the United States. 

 

수단의 모성사망률은 100,000 명당 약 270명으로, 미국의 100,000 명당 21명에 비해 높았습니다.

 

14. Patients with chronic diseases like cancer, heart disease or diabetes have been unsable to get medications for weeks, while dozens of dialysis centers have closed. 

 

암, 심장병 또는 당뇨병과 같은 만성 질환을 가진 환자들은 몇 주 동안 약물을 얻지 못했으며 수십 개의 투석 센터가 폐쇄되었습니다.

 

15. As soon as the fighting started, midwives across the country began receving pleas for help from expectant mothers

16. But she is still willing to take the risk, adding that she feels a storng sense of responsiblity to help every time she hears from a woman who is in an emergency.
