오늘의 통역일지입니다. 

오늘은 신경외과 통역을 다녀왔습니다. 

제가 기억하는 안에서 내용을 적어보았습니다

 

환자는  19세 학생으로 어젯밤 스키를 타고 빠르게 내려오다가 넘어져 머리를 부딪쳤습니다. 

바로 응급실로 가서 x-ray 와 CT를 찍었습니다. 

오늘 신경외과로 follow-up을 왔고검사 결과 x-ray 상에서 골절이나 어떤 이상이 발견되지 않았고 뇌출혈을 볼 수 있는 CT에서도 뇌출혈이 발견되지 않았습니다. 

교수님은 갑작스럽게 머리를 부딪칠 경우 뇌가 흔들리면서 두통이 며칠간 지속될 수 있다고 했습니다. 

사람에 따라서 오래가지 않는 사람도 있고 오래가는 사람도 있습니다. 

다만 정말 드문 경우에는 부상이 발생한 날 며칠 후에 증상이 나타날 수 도 있다고 합니다. 

지금 양상은 크게 나쁘지 않기 때문에 집에 귀가하고 혹시 두통이 너무 심할 경우 다시 돌아오라고 했습니다. 

의사는 원한다면 진통제와 소염제를 처방해줄 수 있다고 했으나, 환자는 응급실에서 처방받은 약이 있다고 그냥 귀가하겠다고 했습니다. 

 

"I was skiing down really fast and fell, hitting my head hard. I immediately went to the emergency department for X-rays and a CT scan. The X-ray didn't show any signs of fractures or abnormalities. Typically, CT scans can detect any intracranial hemorrhage, but none was found in this case.

Usually, without fractures or internal bleeding, headaches can last for two to three months, but these symptoms tend to go away on their own. The doctor can prescribe pain and anti-inflammatory medications to alleviate symptoms, although they won't cure them. The patient mentioned that since he still has medications prescribed by the ER doctor, he doesn't want additional medications.

The doctor advised him to avoid vigorous activities like playing soccer and basketball, as they can cause the brain to forcefully move against the inner walls of the skull. He doesn't have a follow-up appointment as his symptoms are likely to improve over time. However, the doctor emphasized that he should return if he experiences severe headaches later on."
